4 injured in early morning shootings

Four men were injured in a part of overnight shooting incidents in Rochester -- one on Lyell Avenue and the other on Thurston Road.

Police say the first was shortly after 1 in the morning when someone in a group of people gathered outside a house at 1401 Lyell fired what's thought to be a shotgun through one of the windows.

Two people inside the house -- both 19-year-old men -- were hit. They were taken to Rochester General Hospital in a private car. At least two male suspects were seen running away.

An hour later, two men were shot on Thurston Road when a fight broke out. One victim told police he was trying to break it up -- the other victim was walking out of an all-night store when gunfire started. Both men were taken by private car to Strong Memorial Hospital.

All four shooting victims are expected to be OK. Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call 911.
