All escape fire that burned two cars after crash in Henrietta

Two cars went up in flames after a crash in Henrietta yesterday evening, but everyone got out safely thanks to an off duty Rochester police officer and her mother who were first at the crash on West Henrietta Road at Thruway Park Drive.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says a speeding jeep ran a red light at that intersection and smashed a minivan with a mom and four small children on board.

The RPD officer and her mother helped pull the kids out of the wrecked van before it caught fire. Everyone was treated and released at the scene.

The Jeep driver has been charged with running the red light and driving at an unreasonable speed.

Monroe Fire Report Tweeted this photo of the wreck.
