Area high schools to offer distracted driving course

Irondequoit, NY -- Students in many area high schools will be getting a lesson this year about texting and driving.

They'll take a 20 minute Distracted Driving Course online. At some schools, it'll be a requirement for a school parking pass.

The course was developed by The Ad Council and Next Step Academy in Victor.

Ad Council of Rochester President Todd Butler tells WHAM 1180 distracted driving is the number one cause of death for teenagers.
