Victor, NY -- Area tourism officials are patting themselves on the back for what they say was a successful summer -- and they're looking ahead to the fall.
Visit Rochester President and CEO Don Jeffries says that this summer infused more than a billion dollars into the local economy, and he expects the success to continue.
He isn't expect the record-breaking success to continue this fall, but does expect tourism dollars to continue to flow into the region.
He says the summer numbers got a lift from meeting and convention business, as well as the PGA Championship and summer leisure business. He says the meeting business is also looking good for the fall.
