Rochester, NY -- City officials are calling on Monroe County's industrial development agency, COMIDA, to grant a tax break for a membership-only warehouse club.
In a letter to COMIDA, the city says that it supports the City-Gate project and the request by Costco. The project is expected to create 250 permanent jobs and 300 construction jobs.
City-Gate is a $250 million redevelopment project which includes a $30 million Costco store along with other stores, a hotel and 300 apartments.
COSTCO has applied for a 15 year tax exemption. A public hearing will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
