Early Registration Available For Those Who Couldn't Finish Marathon

BOSTON (AP) _ Registered runners who weren't allowed to complete the Boston Marathon because of the finish line explosions can now register early for the 2014 race.

The Boston Athletic Association says the registration period for the 5,633 runners who had reached at least the halfway point before being stopped on April 15 runs until Aug. 29.

The eligible runners will be required to pay the entry fee but don't have to re-qualify.

The B.A.A. previously announced that those runners who couldn't complete the race because of the bombs that killed three and injured more than 260 are from all 50 states, four U.S. territories and 47 countries -- and range in age from 18 to 82. Regular registration is scheduled to start next month
