The Erie County Medical Center confirms that former Bills Quarterback Jim Kelly has suffered a recurrence of cancer.
Kelly came to the hospital for routine testing this week, and doctors found that the cancer had unfortunately returned.
ECMC says its specialists are looking at the best course of treatment, and says Kelly is asking to be kept in people's thoughts and prayers. Buffalo media say he'll be going to New York City for further treatment.
Doctors found cancer in Kelly's upper jaw last year during dental surgery on a bad tooth. He had part of his jaw removed. At the time he told reporters that he'd been told radiation and chemotherapy wouldn't be needed.
