Judge denies injunction against NY campaign donation limits

A political action committee's request to overturn New York's limit on individual campaign contributions has been denied by a federal judge, at least for now.

State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said the New York Progress and Protection PAC requested an injunction to suspend the state's $150,000 cap on individual contributions. Scheniderman's office represented the State Board of Elections in trying to uphold the law.

Judge Paul Crotty of the Southern District in Manhattan denied the preliminary injunction, however the court case continues.
