Livingston Conservative committee breaks tie, nominates Szczesniak

The Livingston County Conservative Party has ended the confusion over last week's party primary for Sheriff.

Chairman Jason McGuire tells WHAM 1180's Bob Lonsberry the party's executive committee voted unanimously to nominate Jim Szczesniak -- setting up a general election battle with the Republican primary winner, Tom Dougherty. The two men finished tied in the Conservative primary, but several dozen ballots were cast by registered Republicans.

McGuire says the bylaws allowed the committee to break the tie.
