Man charged in two-ton copper theft

Orangeville, NY (AP) Authorities in Wyoming County have charged a man with stealing nearly two tons of copper from a power station last summer.

The Sheriff's Office says Todd Arnold allegedly stole about 4,000 pounds of copper worth $20,000 from the Wind Farm power station in Orangeville.

Deputies say the thefts occurred over the summer while the station was under construction. Police say the copper was taken from large wooden spools and other areas at the site.

Arnold was already jailed on an unrelated charge when he was charged with the copper thefts.
