Meeting set to discuss plans to fill in portion of Inner Loop

Rochester, NY -- Rochester city officials will be hosting a public meeting Wednesday evening to give an update on where they stand on their Inner Loop project.

Since 1990, officials have discussed a plan to eliminate part of the loop to reconnect the neighborhoods that were split when it was built.

Plans call for the stretch from Monroe Ave. to Charlotte Street to be filled in, creating nine acres of space for redevelopment -- including a street.

Supporters say the project will revitalize the area and spur economic growth.
