Monroe County to Resume Upkeep at Public Golf Courses

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks says the county parks department will resume full upkeep responsibilities at the county's three public golf courses, starting in 2015.

The current contract for upkeep and operations at the courses will be terminated at the end of this year, and the county will seek a new vendor to handle fee collections, tee times, cart rentals and concessions. The Parks Department will handle course maintenance responsibilities at the three courses -- Churchville Park, Durand Eastman Park, and Genesee Valley Park.

13 WHAM reported in November that the state Comptroller was investigating whether the current contractor was properly maintaining the courses as required under the contract.
