SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) _ Syracuse University is wrapping up a weeklong series of events honoring the 270 people who died in the terrorist bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, 25 years ago.
The casualties included 35 students studying abroad through Syracuse University.
The week's events will culminate with the annual Rose-Laying Ceremony and Remembrance Scholar Convocation Friday afternoon.
Each year, 35 Remembrance Scholarships are awarded in the amount of $5,000 to undergraduate seniors representing a broad range of majors.
The events planned and hosted by the students are meant to honor the victims and further education about terrorism.
The bombing happened on Dec. 21, 1988.
