The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says it continues to investigate the reports of damage to cars and trucks along I-390 -- together with the State Police, Greece Police and the FBI.
A department spokesman says it's too early to say if this week's incident involving a tractor-trailer is connected with one a couple of weeks ago involving a car. Both drivers thought their vehicles might have been hit by a bullet -- but a foot-by-foot search of the highway left authorities unable to say if it was gunfire, a rock or something else. A third driver came forward after coverage of the earlier incidents and reported something damaging his car on 390 near Ridge Road.
The sheriff's department is asking drivers to stay alert and call 911 if they run into anything out of the ordinary.
