Rochester's Open Door Mission Eyes Move

Rochester, NY -- Rochester's Open Door Mission is eyeing a move.
Executive Director Michael Hennessy told WHAM 1180's Bob Lonsberry Thursday plans are in the works for a 40,000 square foot building that would consolidate the headquarters (now at 156 North Plymouth) and the shelter, now on West Main Street.

While he is not ready to disclose the exact site yet, Hennessy says land is being donated west of downtown.

Hennessy says the building would have space for 80 permanent beds for homeless men.

He hopes to break ground by Spring 2015, possibly sooner, and open a year later.
