Rochester, N.Y. – Despite published reports the deal is still on to sell the Dome Arena. The building will still be sold by Monroe County to the Rochester Razorsharks.
“What happened was our initial projection was ‘X’ and we had the funding for ‘X,’” says Dr. Sev Hrywnak the owner of the Rochester Razorsharks. “However the final projections came in at ‘Y’ and we had a gap.”
They plan on renovating the site to be a full use sports entertainment and business center that will be open sports at all levels. It will also be once again be open to outside groups to rent for conventions and trade shows.
Additionally a new sports academy and retail center will also be housed at the site.
The basketball team was given an extension to come up with the additional funding. The sale is expected to go through sometime before mid-September.
