Sen. Gillibrand unveils proposals to benefit working women

Washington, DC -- Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is unveiling what's billed as a five-point package to empower women in the workplace.

Her so-called American Opportunity Agenda would expand paid family medical leave, increase the minimum wage, provide universal pre-k, expand tax credits for child care, and ensure equal pay for equal work.

She outlined her proposals in a speech Friday in Washington, saying women who head households are 40 percent of the U.S. workforce and the nation's economic health depends on easing impediments to working woman.
