Several People Left Temporarily Homeless By Fire

Fire forced nine people from a home on Portsmouth Terrace, near University Avenue in Rochester early Friday morning.

Officials tell us that the fire was related to an electrical problem, and there was more smoke damage, than actual fire damage in the building.

Smoke detectors helped alert the people who lived in the six apartment units and they all got out safely.

Power also had to be temporarily shut off to the building, and the Red Cross is helping with shelter and other needs.
