State grants to help revitalize so-called 'brownfields'

Rochester, NY -- Governor Cuomo has announced $10 million in grants for 26 communities to redevelop so-called brownfields -- abandoned and usually contaminated industrial sites.

Two projects in Rochester are getting grant money:

- A 148 acre area around Goodman and East Main Streets with 38 brownfield sites, including the former Vacuum Oil petroleum refinery site;

- And a 188-acre area with more than 150 potential brownfield sites in the Bull's Head area.
