Rochester, NY -- The shoplifting suspect who was shot by a Monroe County Sheriff's Deputy in Pittsford after crashing a stolen car last month is out of the hospital.
Vincenzo Zagari was promptly arraigned and sent to jail without bail following his release from Strong. He'd been in the hospital for four weeks.
Police say Zagari tried to hit Deputy Bridget Davis with a hammer and pointed a pellet gun at her before she shot him. He's charged with a probation violation and is due back in court next month.
