State Police say two Attica men are under arrest for digging up copper cable across three towns in Genesee County.
Troopers in Batavia say Wayne Pierce and Eugene Reding began digging up underground cable and taking it to scrap yards. They split more than $100,000.
Troopers say the two men asked the landowners for permission before digging. Unfortunately for them, the cables belonged to companies like AT&T, not the landowners.
Pierce and Reding were caught after AT&T reported their cables missing. Both men are charged with grand larceny.
