U.S. Senate considers woman with Rochester ties for federal bench

The U.S. Senate is considering the nomination of a woman with ties to the Rochester area to become the first woman to serve as a U.S. District Court judge in western New York.

Senator Charles Schumer introduced Elizabeth Wolford to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday. He described her stellar legal background, even-handedness, and leadership skills.

Wolford was born in Buffalo, graduated from Fairport High School and now resides in Honeoye Falls.

She is a partner at the Wolford Law FirmLLP in Rochester.
