County Executive Opposed To Seneca Nation Casino

Rochester N.Y.-Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks voicing her opposition to any Seneca Nation casino opening up within the county.

She did that in the form of a letter which she sent to Governor Cuomo.

In it she writes that she has concluded that it is not in the best interest of the community to have a casino owned and operated by the Seneca Nation of Indians here.

Brooks says she will also oppose any measure aimed at declaring land within Monroe County as sovereign territory.

Earlier this year, the Seneca Nation did but some land in Henrietta for a potential casino site. Those plans were dropped after the town objected to the idea.
